MERRY CHRISTMAS

WOW! Its really here. How did it sneak up so fast. I’ve been flat out making pressies. Theres just so much to do. Even the every day things like gardening and the dog NEEDS a bath today.

I’m sorry for not posting very often. I’ll try to do more in the new year. But I do have some pictures to show you. I had an order for some greeting cards. These are before I put them in the cards.    

       Just a few. I did them in acrylic , on paper. I put photo corners in the cards so the paintings can be removed and framed. 

        This is what they look like in the cards. I ran out of the cards,couldn’t get them anywhere. I think I’ll try ebay.

I did a couple of Christmas Cats. 

       And a request ,from 11 year old Lee next door,for a dog one.  I need to brush up on my writing skills. But Lee was very pleased.

I WON!

This is the painting I called ‘Drought’. Sorry its blurry.I entered this compettition. My first art comp ever.  Well I won first prize in the open section.

I was soooo shocked.

 

Sorry about the bad scans. The managed to spell my name wrong. It was written down enough times . I guess they didnt check before it went to print.

I did enjoy the prize. $100.00 gift voucher. It didn’t last long.

Friday!

This was last Saturday’s bargain. $10.00. These are the chairs I really wanted. The little table is a bonus. I never thought I’d be able to afford the ones I want. It really helps to pray before you go.

  My boy has decided he likes to pose for photos now. Thats fine with me. As long as he is happy. He has definately put on weight.

I’ve been hanging all my beaded curtains in the ‘Secret Garden’. They look so pretty. Can you see me?

Bath time in the sparrow’s favourite,dirty puddle. I am pleased with myself for getting this shot. I’m getting better with my camera.

BEFORE AFTER

I’ve been very busy in the garden. This area is almost done. It looks so much better. Tucker (my dog) and I like to sit here on the swing in the afternoons. It’s so nice now. I earned my pain and am proud of it.

  Next job. I’ve started already. It’s the vegie patch at the back of the garden. The area behind the swing lounge. It’s all so hard and painful. But the pleasure I get for accomplishing something so lovely is a real high.

A quick update on Tuckers leg. He is OK. Healing up really well. When he wants something, he lifts his leg an looks sad. Thanks to everyone for their prayers. All for now. He’s happy.

TUCKER

This is Tucker. He is a mini fox terrier, mini bull terrier cross. He is seven years old. Funny little thing.He has so much energy, sometimes he just runs.

He even knows some words like hot, bone, chewy, bed, ball ball, sit, drop, roll over.

Last week I found this massive Tumor. It came up so fast.

The vet thinks its a Spindle Cell Tumor. A soft tissue Sarcoma.

Well he had to have it removed of course. Thats $300.00 I just dont have. Mum and my brother are helping to pay.

Tucker has eight stiches. At first his whole leg was in a bandage. Every time I took him on the lead to toilet, he had to have a plastic bag on his leg. Yes of course it rained.

He did so well. He was so patient. The stiches come out tomorrow. Then we have to pray it’s not malignant, and that he doesnt get another one.

Spring is coming!

My poor little Pye hasn’t been feeling well. She has been spending a lot of time in “the box”. Shakespeare seems to help her relax.

Sorry but I just couldn’t resist.

I’m starting to feel like doing some gardening. Thats a good sign. I really need to get in the vegie patch. It’s an absolute mess. I actually had to ‘buy’ a fresh carrot the other day.

The vegies are just so much cheaper to grow. I’ve been buying frozen all winter.But theres no excuse. The vegie patch is out there waiting for me.

Spring must be on the way. All it does is rain at the moment, but I feel motivated to do physical things. Not just sit on my bum painting.

I’ve been doing lots of housework. (Shock, horror!) It’s great to feel this way.

Update!

So here,finally,is the hot water bottle cover I made for Greg. It’s nothing fancy. I just used a sleeveless ,toddlers, knitted jumper. There is an opening at the bottom, with a flap like in a pillowcase.

Greg says it’s perfect, so it’s fine with me. Not a lot of sewing. One project done.

This mess is all sorts of pictures I’m working on now. Practicing with coloured pencils and Graphitint pencils. Practice sketches. Gesso’d canvases.

It’s all within easy reach.

Just the way I like it.

This  is a black and white canvas I’m working on now. I’ts  16″x20″ Acrylic on canvas board. With just a hint of colour.

I got the background photo ,then the girls photo. I think they fit perfectly.Thanks to the photographers at Wetcanvas once again.

I’m calling it  LOST.

Sorry about my crappy photography skills this morning. Another cup of tea will fix me.

Enough for. Got to get ready to meet my mum. I’m really looking forward to it.

My Garden.

Well, it’s been ages since my last post. I’ve been feeling pretty bad, but I’m starting to come good again. This is what it’s like with Chronic Fatigue syndrome.

The nausea has bee terrible. I had my intravenus vitamin C yesturday. It really dose seem to help.

Enough winging…I got this cute little cat at a garage sale. I just couldn’t resist. He did have a fishing rod, but I lost it on the way home. So I gave him a paint brush for now.

 

I’ve hardly been outside at all. My garden is a wreck.I’ve just not had the energy to get out there. Plus it’s sooooo cold.

As you can see in this photo, the back yard has potential. I have a vegie patch at the end of the yard. I really need to use it.

On the left, up the back,  I have an enclosed garden. Kind of like a shade house. This photo shows the inside. Its actually quite long. I have some seats ect.

It is in need of some TLC.

Looking at the first photo, on the left side of the garden I have a small pool area. Great when its 40 degrees. It’s only a small area for a little pool. Mainly for therapy/exersize.

This photo is not recent. That pool is long gone. I’m getting a new one for next summer.

WOW. The garden looks soooo big . I guess it is. Especially for a Housing Trust place.

I’m very happy here. I moved in about 10 years ago.

Paint, paint, paint.

There were 2 garage sales yesturday. I didn’t get anything. Maybe next week. I’m sure I get withdrawals from lack of garage sales. I just want lots and lots of goodies.

I’ve been so busy painting and drawing. I’ve go to many projects on. I’m still working on my BIG canvas. This is the one for my kitchen. I cant wait until it’s finished.

It’s acrylic on canvas.

They are actually cherries in the jug. Hopefully they will look more like cherries than plums.

 

I need to make a hot water bottle cover as soon as I have a minute. I dont have a sewing machine so I’ll hand sew it.

 

 

Here I’m also working on 2 portrait drawings and a fun self portrait in acrylics.

I’m also still working on my Christmas cards.

I’m doing a house drawing as well. Not sure if I’ll paint that or leave it at graphite.

Theres just so much I want to do. I’m still framing pictures. I want to take some down the street this week . I really need some sales.

 

 

This is Astrid. My mum’s cat. She lives with me as my brother, who shares mum’s house, is allergic. I dont mind at all. She is so funny and sweet.

I bought the pink faux fur blanket for me. A little luxury. Astrid decided she will sleep on it, only on it. She will sleep nowhere else. If I move it she jumps on me at night. She’ll just keep me awake until she gets it back.

Guess who is the boss in my home.

July 1st.

I haven’t written anything for a little while. But I’ve still been painting and drawing. It never stops. I’ve also been sorting out my studio/loungeroom.  There is not a lot of room.

This corner is for canvas storage. The best I can do. I need to frame a lot of paintings on paper soon. I hope they will all fit.

 

 

 

 

This is where I sit to watch T.V. I do a lot of drawing and small paintings here. I know it looks like a complete mess.
